Director Of Corporations, External and Legal Affairs, Microsoft
Hugh Milward leads the Corporate, External and Legal Affairs function at Microsoft UK. He oversees a team leading the UK’s legal function, policy work relating to issues such as privacy and security, government relations, business corporate responsibility and the company’s philanthropy work. He has some twenty years’ experience in corporate affairs, working for a range of multinational businesses such as McDonald’s and Starbucks, as well as in consultancy.
Hugh has spent the majority of his career working in political and community relations. He has previously worked for Starbucks, where he lead public affairs and responsibility work for the UK and Ireland, and for McDonald’s, where he spent five years running public affairs and external relations for the UK and led the UK’s involvement in communications for Northern Europe. Prior to this, he was Head of Public Affairs for the Learning and Skills Council, a government agency managing Apprenticeships and further education. He has also worked as a consultant, both for the agency TLG Communications where he was Deputy Managing Director, and for Weber Shandwick.
