Alan Mak was first elected on 7 May 2015 as Havant’s MP. Alan was re-elected at the general election on 8 June 2017 to continue his hard work for local residents and communities.
Between May 2015-May 2017, Alan was Havant’s local MP and national representative in the Westminster Parliament. He has been active meeting local residents, understanding local issues, and supporting local businesses, schools and community groups in every part of our diverse constituency.
As Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (APPG 4IR), Alan has been working hard to support and promote the 4IR in Parliament, and to encourage the Government, Parliamentarians, academia, the private sector, and other stakeholders, to engage with 4IR-related issues. At the APPG 4IR launch event in March 2017 Alan said:As
As technology transforms economies and societies around the world, the APPG on the Fourth Industrial Revolution will help Britain become the world leader in this sector, raising awareness in Parliament and developing new policy proposals. I am pleased that the Chancellor today launched the group, underlining the Government’s support for our innovative tech sector and resurgent manufacturing base. I look forward to working with colleagues from across Parliament to encourage the implementation of pro-innovation policies that help Britain fully master this technology revolution in the age of Brexit.
